David Ross
David obtained a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas in 1982. Immediately after graduating he began his career with BJ Services Company. During his 24 years of service with BJ Services, David gained a broad range of knowledge and experience in the engineering disciplines of Hydraulic Fracturing, Well Cementing, Acidizing, Sand Control, Completion Tools, Completion Fluids and Coiled Tubing Services.
He is currently a co-owner and principal founder of Alaska Drilling & Completions, LLC. For the past eight years he has worked in Alaska as a Completion Engineering Consultant for Chevron, ConocoPhillips Alaska Inc., Repsol E&P USA and Doyon Limited. During this time frame his primary responsibilities have been designing and supervising the implementation of completions in the Cook Inlet region as well as remote exploration sites on the North Slope.
During his career of 35 years in the Oil and Gas Industry he has been fortunate to work in a wide range of geographical environments that span the globe including, Alaska, Europe / North Sea, South America South East Asia, Russia, the Middle East, Canada as well as South & West Texas. David has been a member of the SPE for 33 years and was invited to serve as a lecturer on the 2007-2008 SPE Distinguished Lecturer Tour. He has authored or co-authored numerous technical papers pertaining to cement slurry designs, completion techniques, sandstone acidizing systems, personnel training and QHSE management systems. He was also a principal co-author of two technical manuals entitled “Formation Damage – Causes, Prevention and Cures” and “Clear Brine Completion Fluids”. Additionally, David is a co-author of the Well Completions chapter in the “Modern Fracturing” text book published by The Energy Tribune and initially distributed at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, in Anaheim, California 2007.
Tim Flynn
Tim obtained a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alaska in 1995. Immediately after graduating he began his career with Sperry-Sun which later was sold to Halliburton. During his 10 years of service with Halliburton, Tim gained a broad range of knowledge and experience in the engineering disciplines of Directional Drilling, MWD Tools, Well Drilling Optimization, Coil Tubing Drilling and well design.
He is currently a co-owner and principal founder of Alaska Drilling & Completions, LLC. For the past eight years he has worked in Alaska as a Drilling Engineering Consultant for FEX, Chevron and Repsol E&P USA. The last year, Tim has worked as the Drilling Manager for Doyon, Limited supervising the entire exploration program in the Nenana Basin.
During his career of over 20 years in the Oil and Gas Industry, Tim has actively been a part of the drilling of over 100 wells from the Arctic Slope of Alaska to the Cook Inlet of Alaska. Particularly this experience has been with many diverse operators allowing Tim to gain knowledge of each and apply the learnings to his everyday work. Tim’s current work supporting Doyon, Limited in the Nenana Basin as the Drilling Manager has been a success and a great experience. He has been responsible of all aspects of the remote Alaskan exploration well starting with total design and implementation of the plan to operating and finalizing the project.
